Integrative Chiropractic Services

What is integrative chiropractic care?

As Chiropractors, we can do so much more than adjust the restricted joints in your spine.

At CSJC, we believe that we can help you get better faster and stay better longer by taking a multidimensional approach to your care.

We use a combination of treatment tools to go the extra mile for you, evaluating/treating you and your condition from head to toe.

Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)

SFMA

The SFMA is our total body movement diagnostic system.

The assessment will provide an efficient method for systematically finding the root cause of your pain, not just the site of your symptoms.

Through further examination, the SFMA allows us to differentiate between mobility vs. stability dysfunctions in order to provide you with the most appropriate intervention for the problem at hand.

By building a plan related to your overall mechanical function, we can not only impact your pain and symptoms, but also influence long lasting, positive outcomes for your level of function.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Joint Manipulation

In the clinic, we may find joints in your body that are not moving freely. This can cause tightness and discomfort and can accelerate unwanted degeneration i.e. arthritis. Your provider will apply a gentle force with their hands, or with handheld instruments, in order to restore motion to any "restricted" joints. Sometimes a specialized table will be used to assist with these safe and effective "adjustments". Joint manipulation improves flexibility, relieves pain, and helps maintain healthy joints.

Myofascial Release Therapy

Muscle Release Therapy

Overworked muscles often become tight and develop knots or "trigger points." Chronic tightness produces inflammation and swelling that ultimately leads to the formation of "adhesions" between tissues. Your provider will apply pressure with their hands, or with specialized tools, in order to release muscle tightness and soft-tissue adhesions. This will help to improve your circulation, relieve pain and restore flexibility.

Rehabilitation Exercise

Corrective Exercise

Muscle tightness or weakness causes discomfort and alters normal joint function, leading to additional problems. Your chiropractor will target tight or weak muscles with specific therapeutic stretching and strengthening to help increase tissue flexibility, build strength, and ease the pain. Healthy, strong, and flexible muscles may help prevent re-injury.
